Produce roll bags for the fresh section: why Central Retail and MM Mega Market chose CompoFlex

In the fresh section, shoppers tear a bag from the roll for almost every loose item they pick up. That puts the roll bag high on the list for a category manager reviewing bags under the 2026 rules.
Why roll bags fall under the 2026 rules
The 1 January 2026 size and thickness line
From 1 January 2026, non-biodegradable plastic bags smaller than 50 cm x 50 cm with a single-layer film thinner than 50 µm may not be produced or imported, except for export or for packaging goods sold on the market. The decree does not define that exception, and roll bags that shoppers fill at the shelf work like carrier bags, so plan on the 50 x 50 cm and 50 µm line applying. Decree 110 also lists small non-biodegradable bags 'with or without handles' used at retail points for a waste-treatment contribution. Check your current roll bags against that line.
The rule for supermarkets after 2025
After 2025, provincial People's Committees must ensure that non-biodegradable plastic bags and other single-use plastic are not circulated or used in supermarkets and shopping centres.

Running roll bags in store
- Dispenser fit: roll width, core size and perforation should match the dispensers already in store.
- Storage: keep rolls cool, dry and out of sunlight, and rotate stock first in, first out.
- Disposal message: a compostable bag in a general waste bin goes to landfill like any other bag, so print a clear disposal line.
